Karen brings a wealth of experience to her Role as Company Secretary having worked in a variety of administrative roles during her 21 years within the utility industry working for the North Eastern Electricity Board, Northern Electric Properties Ltd and Northern Electric Distribution Ltd.
Karen joined the retail division of the North Eastern Electricity Board in 1982 and after holding a series of progressively more senior positions, moved to Northern Electric property division in 1994 where she took responsibility for the administrative functions for the management of the company’s offices, depots and 7000 sub-stations.
In addition to the day to day administration of the surveying department, duties included developing systems and processes for the effective maintenance of title deeds, conveyances and deeds of grant.
Her experience of how both the distribution and supply businesses operate gives her a broad understanding of how the utility industry functions.
Karen is co founder of Square One and in addition to her role as Company Secretary she also has overall responsibility for company HR and Finance functions.
